More thoughts .....
Of all the means of expression, photography is the only one that fixes a precise moment in time. We play with subjects that disappear; and when they’re gone, it’s impossible to bring them back to life. We can’t alter our subject afterward.... Writers can reflect before they put words on paper.... As photographers, we don’t have the luxury of this reflective time....We can’t redo our shoot once we’re back at the studio. Our job consists of observing reality with help of our camera (which serves as a kind of sketchbook), of fixing reality in a moment, but not manipulating it, neither during the shoot nor in the darkroom later on. These types of manipulation are always noticed by anyone with a good eye. - Henri Cartier-Bresson - "American Photo", September/October 1997
We believe that life is an absolute gift. To be here on our beautiful planet, to share in heartfelt relationships, to love, to give – to be loved. As image makers, we understand the importance of the moments we photograph and that they hold so much meaning now and in the years to come.
It’s our privilege to be invited into your life, to document your unique connection with the people you keep close to your heart.
Our clients grow in their love for one another because of the photography experience we share with them. To us, photography is much less about the camera and much more about the relationship our clients have together. To have an opportunity to hold and caress one another during your engagement session or a moment away to soak it all in on your wedding day can be something that is passed over. Through this journey with us, you will surely discover new ways to express your affections and reflect on this incredible time in your lives.
The key principle behind my way of working is to be as unobtrusive as possible. My goal when photographing your big day is to let the individual personality of each couple and the uniqueness of their wedding shine through. The aim is to capture the true spirit and emotion of your wedding day by documenting its unique moments rather than have it conform to a narrow concept of what the ideal wedding should look like. Essentially, it’s all about telling your story for you, not me dictating mine for me.
Investing in a wedding photographer is a decision that I recommend putting a lot of thought into. Each photographer has their own unique approach and style. Look at their pictures and ask yourself which ones you think could reflect you as you really are. When you are looking through your wedding album with your children and grandchildren in the years to come, you’ll be pleased you took the time and effort to seek out the right wedding photographer to tell your story.
I would be truly honoured to document your wedding day for you. Please feel free to drop me a line to check availability and to set up a time to work out a package for your specific needs and budget.
